"A long way there
Chapter 3: Getting to know you better/A-A kiss?!?


~Last time~
"(F/n), call me whenever you need services or help." And his number was written on it. Your cheeks began to heat up again and your heart skipped a beat.  "Why does he make me feel like this? Maybe Hiyori was right....no...that can't be...could it?" You thought to yourself.
All you thought about was what tomorrow will bring for you. You had so many ideas of what could happen! You could even say that you actually felt happy for once! Just thinking about it all made your heart feel warm inside.

~Now~

The sunlight from outside shined down into your room. The sun soon hit your eye as you laid sleeping, you tried to move away from it but sadly it was too bright so it woke you up.

You sat up from your bed and stretched as you let out a sleepy yawn. You removed the sheets of the bed off of your body. Your (e/c) eyes looked over to the side and saw the alarm clock. It's glowed red and you read the time.

"10:00" It kept blinking and soon it made a loud alarm noise. You jumped at the surprise and quickly shut the alarm off.
You jumped out of bed and rushed to your closet, trying to pick something to wear for the special day.
One choice was a nice pink dress with puffy short sleeves and it was loose when it neared to the bottom, and white flats. Thank god your dress was knee height too!
The second choice was bleached shorts that were up mid-thigh level and a white t-shirt with (favorite band) logo on it, and some (f/c) converse.  

It was so hard to choose! You thought they both looked so cute on you! You went with the [first or second choice].
You quickly put it on and then started brushing your (l/s/m) hair. You decided to leave it down for this occasion. Once you were done, you made your way to the kitchen for some breakfast.

~Le time skip of eating breakfast and brushing teeth~

You were pretty much done with everything! You grabbed your light red purse and you were about to leave but before you did you put on some of your strawberry perfume.

"How could I forget my perfume!?" You thought to yourself as you sprayed on the scented perfume.
You said bye to your parents and soon, you were off! You were walking down to the mall which wasn't that far from where you lived, which was a good thing!

As you were walking, you heard a ringing from your purse. You instantly knew it was your phone, so you rushed to get it from your bag.

"Heeeellllo~" You cooed out in happiness. The voice answered back in a sweet voice.

"Hey, (F/n), we're already at the mall, meet us up at the front, ok?" It was Hiyori. She was just making sure that you were still coming.
You smiled and answered back, "Alright Hiyori~ I'll be right there, I just need to walk two more blocks. See ya then! Bye!" And with that, you hung up and started speed walking toward the mall.

You got there quite quickly and you saw Hiyori waving at you. You rushed over to her and smiled.

"Hiyori! Long time no see!" You joked as you hugged her friendly.
"You too, (F/n)" She replied jokingly as well.
After you both greeted each other, you noticed two boys standing next to Hiyori on her right.

One was Yato, obviously, and the other boy had blonde hair. You thought that he might be Yukine, and you were about to find out.

"(F/n), this is Yukine. Yukine, this is (F/n)..." Hiyori started. Yukine took one glance of you and started blushing like mad.

"YUKINE STOP THINKING LIKE THAT!" Yato yelled out in pain. You were startled and his yelling made you jump up in fear. You did know that Yukine and Yato had been linked together since Hiyori told you the "long" story.

Yukine mumbled, "It's not my fault that she's...." And the last part you couldn't quite hear it clearly but you just pushed that aside. "N-nice to meet you Yukine..." You smiled at him kindly.
He tried smiling back but that only made him blush even more.
"Like wise, (F/n)..." He replied back.

"Alright! So we should start shopping now, right (F/n)?!" Hiyori shouted out with glee and excitement. You nodded and replied, "Yep! We should go stop by (favorite store) too!" You suggested. She nodded and smiled. Yato and Yukine just groaned and rolled their eyes in exhaustion. The fact that they had two girls in front of them who loved shopping really annoyed them.

Hiyori and you made it to lots of stores and now you were at a cute dress store, or you can say a prom dress store. Ok, what the heck! You were looking at cute dresses for your spring dance!! Thank god you had Hiyori to help you pick out a dress, and it was funny how both of you had a spring dance coming up! You were so excited for the dance, and especially because you get to spend it with Hiyori since she invited you to hers and vise versa.

Hiyori already picked out a dress for herself. She was going to wear a lavender dress that was knee height and it was puffy. The good part about her dress was that it was also strapless, which made it cuter! And to top it all off, she was wearing 3 inch silver stilettos that looked absolutely hot on her, well maybe to the guys but you just liked complimenting her.

You, on the other hand, had no idea what to wear. Hiyori gave you a bunch of dresses to try on in the changing room. You were trying to take your clothes off as fast as you can to try on more dresses. Yet, sadly...none of them fit! It was either that the dress was too tight and snug or the dress was too loose and saggy.

"Ugh, this is getting me irritated Hiyori! None of them fit!" You yelled out to Hiyori who was outside of the changing room you were in. She was foundling with the hangers of the dresses, trying to get them on the right hanger.
She then replied back, "Just hang in there (F/n)! This is the last one!" She had a satisfying smirk on her face which sadly you didn't get to see, yet you knew that it was just plastered on her face.

"It better be the last one!" You snarled out to her as she handed you the dress. You didn't get the chance to look at it, you just wanted to put it on and quickly get out of it because of how tired you were.

Surprisingly, the dress slipped on perfectly! It wasn't too tight or loose...it was just....perfect, like the dress was meant for you!  You actually liked the dress once you finally got to look at it. It was a light bubblegum pink, it fit perfect with your (s/c) skin and rosy cheeks. The dress was knee-height and it was a flat, almost silky texture, but it also felt so nice and soft. You can easily dance in it as well!

You absolutely loved it. Now all you had to do was find some shoes....which would take another 5 hours!

You stepped out of the changing room to show Hiyori, Yato, and Yukine. Hiyori started jumping in glee, Yukine and Yato just stood there with their mouths gaping. Yukine snapped out of his dazed thoughts and he started to blush, Yato flinched when Yukine obviously thought of something "wrong" but Yato just stood still as he continued staring at you. And soon, Yato started to blush which would never really happen in Hiyori's perspective.
   You soon started to feel a bit uncomfortable as he stared at you, you as well started blushing.

"S-stop staring...Y-Yato..." You stuttered out as your face was pure red. You were dying of embarrassment on the inside, but you kept it in.

He quickly replied, "S-sorry (F/n)...it's just um...y-you're really beautiful in that dress..." He blushed red but tried to keep his cool, yet you obviously saw through his bs.

You blushed like mad, by now your face was completely red. You gathered the courage to reply back, "Thank y-you...Yato." You smiled as you finally had the confidence in the dress. "Do a twirl (F/n)! Pleeeeaasee!?~ " Hiyori suggested and begged in glee. You did what you were asked and did a small twirl. The twirl made your dress fly up just a tad and it made you look like a princess! You loved how you felt in it, it was completely perfect.

Hiyori clapped and started, "It's perfect for you (F/n)! I'm definitely buying it for you!" She said with a huge smile on her face.

"N-no no no Hiyori! You don't have to buy it for me! I'll pay for it!" You smiled weakly. She shook her head and refused.

"No way (F/n)! It's my treat, ok?" She gave you a smile. She soon walked away as she went to put back the other dresses that she pulled out. You sighed and just gave in. It did seem rather rude to refuse her friendly offer, and you thanked God that the dress wasn't that pricey.

You saw Yato still staring at you by the corner of your eye, so you decided to then turn around and look at him but he instantly turned away so you couldn't see him. You let out a grunt as you realized that he was really stubborn.
 You turned to Yukine who was still blushing and you smiled at him.

"Hey Yukine? How do you think I look?" You asked friendly. He looked up at you with his hazel eyes that were glistening by the light. He answered back quickly,
"I-I...think you look gorgeous (F/n)...I love you...I-I MEAN I LOVE IT ON YOU!"  He quickly corrected himself as he started blushing like a mad man. You found his actions amusing considering that he was still just a teenage boy who didn't really know how to talk with girls smoothly. Where did he learn it from?....Yato?

After a long while of shopping, Hiyori payed for the dress and gave it to you, which you thanked her a million times for!
Now, you all were just about to leave the mall since it was soon closing. It was getting dark outside fast and you decided since it was a Friday, why not just walk around town for a bit with them.

You left the mall with Hiyori, Yato, and Yukine. While Hiyori and you talked, Yato and Yukine held the many bags from the stores that you went to. Hiyori and you couldn't help but laugh at the situation! You, personally, had a wonderful time with them. It was...nice to spend time with some friends. Lately, you haven't been able to do that so you were thankful for this time.

You all walked around town, Hiyori showed you places that you've never seen, Yato wanted to fall asleep, and Yukine was really just staring at you the whole time. After the fun experience, the fun had to come to an end. Hiyori and you parted your ways and said your goodbyes.

"Promise we'll meet up next week?" Hiyori asked with happiness. You nodded and replied, "Of course! And um Hiyori...next time bring Yato again..." You blushed madly as you told a small confession. To be honest you really did trust Hiyori, and it was about time you told her that you had a crush on Yato.   She gave you a smirk and nodded.

"I will, I will~" She replied in a song song voice. And with that, she went home, leaving you with Yukine and Yato.
You haven't even realized they were still there! That Hiyori must've set you up!

Yato leaned down to Yukine's ear and whispered something. You only could hear some of it and it sounded like, "Yukine, go home ok? I'm going to walk (F/n) home." And that's all you heard. Yukine nodded and soon, he left. You knew that he probably had gone home, leaving Yato with you....all alone.

"I'll walk you home (F/n)...let's go." Yato said in a stern voice. You blushed a candy red but nodded, trying to hide your blush. Yato and you walked side by side. A cold breeze soon hit your skin and you shivered as goosebumps covered your (s/c) skin. You started shaking and Yato noticed this, so he decided to put his arm around your neck to keep you warm as he brought you closer to his body.

Your cheeks were completely red, you felt like they looked like tomatoes! Why did Yato have to do this to you?!

"T-thanks Yato..." You stuttered.
"No problem (F/n)...by the way....where do you live?" He asked nervously with a small sweat drop on the side of his forehead. You let out a giggle.
"So are you trying to tell me that you just wanted to walk me home without knowing where I actually lived?" You laughed out. He nodded as he started to feel embarrassed, but soon he let out a small chuckle.

"I'll show you, just come on Yato..." You said as you both continued walking, with you still having his arm wrapped around you.

You both arrived at your house. You looked up at him with a small piece of your (h/c) hair in your face. He took this chance to tuck the small piece of hair behind your ear. You started blushing again as you felt his warm touches. He leaned down swiftly and kissed your forehead. You knew you saw him blush for a split second, and you knew yourself that you were as red as a tomato!

"G-good night (F/n)..." Yato said with a small smile as he then disappeared.
And with that, you had a dumbfounded look. You thought, "D-did....he just do that!?..." To you, it all happened too fast! You were flattered, but mad, but then sad, but then happy! You were a whole mess of emotions! And it was all just because of that one little kiss from your new found crush....Yato.

"That man.....drives me crazy with every little thing he does...." You whispered to yourself as you felt your heart beat pound rapidly from the excitement. You were head over heels for Yato! You couldn't hold it in! You promised yourself that next time you see him, you'll at least try to confess. But you knew deep inside, that it will be a long way there.
